The Swedish Naturalist Fredric Hasselquist first described this cucumber to the west in the 18th century after his expedition to Asia Minor and the Middle East. He described it as the “queen of all cucumbers, refreshing, sweet, solid and wholesome.”

Planting Instructions:  Direct seed cucumbers after all danger of frost, ½ inch deep 12-18 inches apart. These plants will vine, so leave plenty of room in your garden. They can also be trellised.

Sow: May-June

Germinate: 4-10 days

Water: Moist

Harvest: 50-60 days
