Originally from the Genoa province in Italy, it is the primary ingredient in “Pesto alla Genoese,” a traditional Genoese sauce. This classic sweet basil of Italy is the very best for making pesto. Beautiful dark green leaves, excellent flavor and slow to bolt.

Epic origin: Genoa, Italy

Planting Instructions: Sow shallowly in cells or small pots.  Transplant to garden after all danger of frost, every 4-8 inches in rows 18-24 inches apart. For a continuous supply of leaves harvest plants by pinching off tops at each node.
